Big banks do billions in student loans. The Village Voice's Anya Kamenetz reports that student lenders are some of the most profitable companies in the country. Much of this business is underwritten by the U.S. government. A new bill introduced in the House and Senate aims to change this system to benefit students struggling to pay for college.
